Our favorable iron weights are set to an already very low production tolerance via the sealed adjustment chamber.
The remaining possible deviation corresponds to OIML class M2.
Note: Our iron weights have a maximum deviation within the "M2" class, but they are not "official OIML weights".
It is not possible to certify these weights for legal-for-trade applications. This does not affect the accuracy, but other properties would have to apply for type approval. For example, we would not be allowed to seal the calibration chamber with aluminum, but would have to seal it with a soft metal such as lead, so that the verification officer can stamp the weight after it has passed the verification (lead is highly toxic, for us in production as well as later at home and problematic at disposal).
None of these requirements are relevant for the adjustment of a household scale or affect the mass.
If a certificate or calibration certificate is required, you can have the weights tested & calibrated in external calibration laboratories.
