The series is characterized in particular by:
- electromagnetic force compensation technology & automatic, internal adjustment.
Additional external adjustment possible.
- high precision, sensitivity and a fast settling time
- robust and stable cast aluminum housing with glass draft shield
- Removable stainless steel weighing platform, adjustable level, adjustable feet
- zero search, counting function, tare function, density determination
- 7 weight units (g, ct, ozt, oz, GN, dwt, lb).
- RS232 data interface
Touch-Display:
Touch-sensitive display with very fast response time.
The “computer” inside the scale allows you to perform numerous other functions than just weighing:

Functions:
Of course, the touch display can also be used for all normal standard functions, which you can also find in the cheaper JJ-BF with classic buttons:
| TARE |
Set back to “0 |
| PRINT |
Send weighing result to PC or printer via the interface |
| CAL |
Automatic calibration can also be started manually at any time |
| Weight UNIT |
The scale shows the current weight in grams (g), ounces (oz), troy ounces (ozt), grains (gn), dwt or pounds (lb) on the display. |
But on top of this, the scale has several additional features:
Menu / Setup Parameter
Also our JJ-BF has a menu which allows you to change the scales settings, but it is only accessable by a complicated button combination and consists of letter codes, which can only be understood by using the manual.
Here, all settings can be changed easily:
Weighing pan:
-
Stainless steel, removable
-
Underneath there is another drip tray for any spilled weighing material
-
The weighing pan has a diameter of 90mm for all models with a capacity under 1kg. For models with a measuring range of 1kg or more (JJ1023BDF & JJ1523BFD), the pan diameter is 120mm.

Design and Construction
Case:
-
Made entirely of metal (aluminum alloy). Base painted dark gray, top shell painted light gray.
-
It's leveled using the two rear feet and the build in spirit level. At the front, there's only a single metal feet, which automatically ensures the scale stands wobble-free (3-point support)
-
Large, mounted draft shield with glass panes on all sites. Can be slid open on the sites and on the top. The bottom of the draft shield is lined with stainless steel.
Power supply
- 230V connection to the socket using an earthed power cable
-
Power intake is secured against voltage spikes (e.g., from lightning strikes) by a device protection fuse.
- Internal power supply, engineered for continuous duty.
Data Interface
- RS232 Interface
- Optional: RS232->USB Adapter
- Optional: RS232->Bluetooth Adapter
External vs. Internal Adjustment
For external adjustment, you need to place a special reference weight of the appropriate accuracy class on the scale. For example, a 100g weight with a tolerance of less than 0.0001g. The scale "learns" from this weight how much 100g truly weighs and adjusts itself correctly.
Of course, you shouldn't touch such a weight with your fingers, as the moisture from your skin can already alter its weight.
With precision and analytical balances, even the smallest environmental changes can affect the measurement result. This is especially true for temperature, which impacts the resistance in the electrical components.
Therefore, it's crucial to readjust your scale regularly. In a climate-controlled cleanroom with a consistently stable temperature, this is rarely necessary. However, in a normal room where the temperature constantly changes—due to sun exposure in summer or heating setbacks in winter—this process would need to be repeated regularly. Only then can you ensure consistent measurement results. Each adjustment process means an interruption to your operations and, in the long run, higher labor costs. The tricky part, however, is that you often don't know when adjustment is needed to avoid an incorrect work result.
Automatic Adjustment of the JJ-BFD Series
The automatic adjustment mechanism of the JJ-BFD series is time- and temperature-controlled.
If the scale detects an ambient temperature change of more than 1.5 °C, or at the latest after 3 hours, the adjustment is automatically triggered. You can finish your current measurement process. Adjustment only begins once the scale displays "0".
You'll see the message "CAL" on the display for approximately 30 seconds, and then the scale is ready for use again.
Alternatively, you can start the automatic adjustment immediately with the press of a button, or deactivate the automatic control and start the adjustment process by clicking the button on the touchscreen.
Of course, you also can additionally adjust the scale with external test weights.
You can find the exact technical details for individual models in the technical data sheet provided as an Image.
